Veterans Day Hamburgers Post 184

Post 184 Members, Guests, and Friends!

We have an exciting 2026 season of BBQs, public events, and great food and fun coming up!

For starters, we have a great video of our recent Vietnam Veterans Day BBQ and Celebration, produced and shot by our ABC affiliate, Channel 7, that shows how nice our events are.  CLICK HERE to see the ABC Event video of our recent Vietnam Veterans event.  It’s a great video that showcases our Post and gives you a good idea of how great our events are and what we do for Veterans here in the South Bay.

We here at the American Legion Post 184 had a great time celebrating Memorial Day with a great BBQ, Live music, and an open event for members, friends, and family.  We would like to thank everyone for making it such a great festive day of food, fun, and live music.  As always, it’s the volunteers, the public and membership donations, and the fellowship that make it special.  Thanks, everyone!

Next up on the event list is our July 4th BBQ, where we celebrate our nation’s birthday.  July 4th, or Independence Day, commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, by the Continental Congress, officially severing the 13 colonies’ ties to Great Britain. While independence was voted on July 2, July 4 became the date celebrated as the birth of the United States. It was declared a federal holiday in 1938.  There won’t be any taxation without representation at Post 184’s celebration, but there will be a great BBQ, Live music, and lots of food and fun!  CLICK HERE to go to the July 4th Independence Day BBQ Page!

On Sunday, July 26th, American Legion South Bay Post 184 will be celebrating our Korean War Armistice Day BBQ. Watch this space for all the details!

You can expect great BBQs & celebrations throughout the year, including Independence Day, Labor Day, and, of course, Veterans Day.  All of these BBQ celebrations are very popular, and we thank everyone in advance for your support and participation.  Each of these events includes potlucks, all of which are donated by volunteers.  Volunteers are always appreciated and needed; they are the backbone of any great organization. What a great effort our volunteers put into each and every event!  Thanks in advance to all of the volunteers who make these events successful.

Just a reminder that we maintain a shared calendar where we post everything that’s going on at Post 184, like the monthly Unit meetings, along with all of these events. Just CLICK HERE to view the shared calendar.  It’s a Google calendar, too; you can add it to your own personal Google calendar if you wish.  It’s an easy way to keep track of everything going on here at Post 184.  Also, remember that we get busy on our event days. Please remember to park on Pearl Street and be respectful to our neighbors.  Please CLICK HERE for our parking and directions page.

All of our 2026 events will be posted on this events page and the shared calendar.  As each of our 2026 events is finalized, we will keep this page, the rest of the website, and the shared calendar up to date. We recommend bookmarking this page and keeping an eye out for our event announcements here on our website, on our Facebook and Instagram accounts, and in the regular emails sent to all of our great members.

As always, we encourage everyone to visit our website at post184.com for all the latest information about our Post.  Be well and come visit the Post when you have a chance.  We are looking forward to a great 2026. All the best from all of us here at Post 184.  Take care!  Remember, Post 184 is The BEST Post!
