Sons Of The American Legion, Squadron 184
Welcome to The Sons of The American Legion, Squadron 184, a Unit of American Legion’s Post 184 in Redondo Beach, California. The SONS here support many events, philanthropic efforts, and other projects for the American Legion South Bay and the surrounding community. We hold our annual elections in June of each year. For a listing of our latest Leadership roster, please CLICK HERE . We encourage our members to serve on our committees and attend our meetings, and volunteer for various events. Your help is appreciated, and we thank you in advance for your support!
We are happy to report that Membership at Squadron 184 has been trending upward in recent years. We work to find new ways to generate funds to support our philanthropic and civic efforts and the American Legion’s mission. It’s an exciting time of growth for Squadron 184! Being a member of The SALs is fun, and we think you’ll find the organization to be a friendly group of people who work together and enjoy each other’s company.
We ask that all SALs (SONS) keep their membership up to date! Membership dues, although small, are an essential part of how we fund our efforts. Please keep your membership up to date; we depend on those dues. If you’re not current, you may mail a $50 check, Payable to Sons Of The American Legion, to:

Many here know The Sons of The American Legion from our great yearly BBQ events. Specifically, the SONS manage all four BBQ events that Post 184 provides open to the public each year: Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, and Veterans Day. Visit our EVENTS Page for the latest updates. But the Sons Of The American Legion (the SALs) are so much more than just those great events. We take great pride in supporting the Veterans Support Organization, Joseph’s Gift. We support various local philanthropic efforts, like scholarships for Redondo Union High School students and the American Legion’s Boys and Girls State program. We help to support the ROTC program at Redondo Union High School. We assist those in need, including first responder families, when a member becomes injured or passes away, in conjunction with the Harbor Regional Center’s Harbor Help Fund. Our facility here was initially built in 1920, so there’s always something to repair or update; we help to support The Post and its needs.
Along with membership dues, our funds are derived from generous contributions from fellow SONS members and the public, as well as our twice-yearly fundraisers, which we call ROCK N’ RIBFEST. Tremendous food and monetary donations from fellow SONS members and our fellow organization, the American Legion Auxiliary, and local business donations enable us to hold these events. Keep an eye on our events page for the latest schedules. We depend on our fundraisers, members, and public donations to sustain our efforts for both our veteran support and community efforts.
You’ll find that SALs Squadron 184 is a generous and supportive group that supports Post 184, The American Legion’s mission, and the other Legion Unit families here at The American Legion South Bay. Our meetings are held on the Second Monday of each month at 5 PM at Post 184.
